Thanks to all the dancers, callers, cuers, committee members, and volunteers, who came together to make the 56th Ohio Dance Convention a success — we couldn't have done it without you. We hope you enjoyed the convention as much as we enjoyed making it happen. Have a safe trip home, and we'll see you next June at the Cincinnati Nationals.
The Central Ohio Corporation of Dance Clubs is proud to be the sponsor of the 56th annual Ohio Dance Convention. We invite the square dancing and round dancing communities from Ohio and beyond to join us May 6th & 7th for a fun-filled weekend of dancing to the theme of Mardi Gras Magic.
The Crowne Plaza Columbus North Hotel has enough dance halls for all levels of square and round dancing, plus DBD, lines, and clogging. We plan to occupy the entire hotel so get your reservations in as soon as possible.
Special events on Friday morning include a Phase IV Round Dance Clinic, and a Columbus City Garden Bus Tour of the Columbus Topiary Park and the Grand Atrium of Franklin Park Conservatory (including box lunches from Schmidt's German Village). Following those events will be a Solos Meet & Greet Dance in the afternoon consisting of squares, rounds, and mixers. Friday's After Party Talent Show will bring out the magic from all who care to participate. (Please sign up on your registration form so we get a head count of performers.)
On Saturday, Matt Snow as Frank Sinatra, along with his sensuous partner impersonating Marilyn Monroe, will put on a fabulous Dinner Show. Enjoy the show while feasting on your choice of roast pork, grilled chicken, or vegetable lasagna, with all the trimmings. We will also have an all-day Youth Hall especially suited for our young dancers.
Ohio conventions not only draw great (and great numbers of) dancers, they also attract many talented callers and cuers (we're expecting over 60 in 2016). Why not join us and be a part of Mardi Gras Magic, too?
